Terroir encompasses the geographical and the  physical environment, such as minerals in soil, humidity and moisture, sunlight, heat, wind and elevation. Different Terroirs are appropriate to different grapes. It's basically the same principles  from winemaking translated to our sustainable line of grass-fed beef.

Our History

Our founder, Hil, was a world class surfer and meditation enthusiast, who had given up red meat for over 2 decades. It all changed after a San Francisco Bay Area doctor recommended a Paleo Diet, for his youngest son who suffered from gastro intestinal problems. The key, according to the doctor, was organic only vegetables, wild caught fish and 100% grass-fed beef to build his gut flora back, while staying away from chemicals and antibiotics found on food produced at Concentrated Animal Factory Operations (CAFOs), where 97% of the beef in the US is produced.

Being analytically driven, and experienced as a former country CFO for a Fortune 20 company, he began studying the effects of different foods and its possible impact in our gut. He quit his comfortable job to dedicate more time to his family and his research. His food beliefs were changed after consulting with several doctors and reading diverse literature about the gut and the effects of antibiotics, hormones, pesticides and chemicals in our diet. The empirical evidence of his son recovery was an enforcement of being on the right track.

The cost and convenience of quality 100% grass-fed beef were a challenge he experienced in the Bay Area. Having lived in Europe, Asia, South and North America he and his wife knew that there were different methods and standards of raising and feeding cattle in different parts of the world. He decided to found Grazy Box Co. and provide more people and families, in the US, with conveniently delivered, fairly price, sustainably raised, antibiotic and hormone free 100% grass-fed beef from some of the best producers from the US, Australia, Uruguay, New Zealand and more. Approximately 2/3 of the box is made up of premium cuts, like rib eye, tenderloin, NY strips, to name a few.
